Jan 01, 2013 · I can use NSFileManager to create a XYZ folder in "/Library/Application Support" in Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6. However, in 10.7, it says "You don't have permission to save XYZ in the folder 'Application Support'".

I might have also checked to see if it was a real directory or a Symlink or an Alias to the *Application Support*, especially if it had all the same files in it. Of course if they had different files in them, I would have known it was not a Symlink nor Alias.

Oct 06, 2014 · Either way, unless you are finding it in the Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support folder, then it is not being used by relevant system services that usually create this folder, so you can move it to the trash (you will need to authenticate to do this), and then delete it.
