Currently I am keeping my rig I have now until about a year then upgrading everything and will have a board with pci-e. but now I will need a vid card to run the new games until then. what would be a agp good card to upgrade to that isnt too expensive but it is better then my current vid card?

?f you have agp slot you can get a card with SM 3.0 (or better ) support ,get a used 6600gt or 7600gt if you can find . Your options . 1-Get a used card 6600gt-7600gt - x1900 -1950 agp latest agp card is radeon 4670agp but expensive than reguler pci-e models.I hope you have nice psu to handle these cards .

May 17, 2006 · you could go for an nVidia 6xxx series card...anything from the 6 series on up supports Shader Model 3.0 and the GS can be soft moded to 6800GT (opens up an extra Quad of pixel pipes, from 12 to 16 and a vertex shader, from 5 to 6) with RivaTuner.....

Apr 06, 2006 · I'm feeling curious today, so, what graphics card do you have? I have an ATi X1600Pro with 512MB of GDDR2 memory (I know it's not the fastest or best but it was the best 512MB card I could find for an AGP 8X slot). Plus having support for SM 3.0 and HDR which my X800XL didn't have.
