In this paper we presented a next generation Inter-net architecture for mobility and multi-homing support. The architecture introduces an identification layer to identify end-hosts over the Internet. This new layer provides a stable end-point to which legacy applications can bind, resulting in natural support of the mobility and multi-homing features.

mobility, multihoming, MILSA, Next Generation Internet I. INTRODUCTION Naming and addressing are important Internet design issues. The availability of large-scale heterogeneous networks and the request for multiple services make it necessary to identify all the objects, especially for the mobile and multihomed hosts [1].

for the next generation. MILSA (Mobility and Multihoming supporting Identifier Locator Split Architecture) [1] and re-lated enhancements [2, 3] are designed to address the naming, addressing, and routing scalability challenges, provide mobility and multihoming support, and easy transition from the current Internet. In this paper, we synthesize our research intoa multiple-tier realm-based …

In this paper we present a next generation internetworking architecture to solve the IP semantic overload by introducing an identity layer located between the network and transport layers. This new layer provides a stable cryptographic identifier for end-hosts and seamlesslly allows the deployment of new services, such as mobility, multihoming and security.
