Jan 16, 2016 · I have the Arris NVG599 modem that replaced my 2wire - I had another the 2wire connected by cat5 in the other side of my house where I had a very weak wireless signal. When I had both 2wire modems working that was setup by AT&T I had seamless connectivty whereby when I went to either side of the house I didnt have to log into the other modem.

Jan 01, 2008 · This allows you to do WDS-like repeating, without the requirement that the main router / access point have compatible WDS support. In other words, you could have a DD-WRT v24 unit connect wirelessly to the 2wire, and share that connection with locally wired clients, and also broadcast another wireless signal on the same network.

Feb 20, 2011 · The main Router/Modem is an AT&T U-VERSE 3800 2Wire Modem. Off of that I've got one Apple Airport Extreme router in 5GHz N Mode hooked up with Cat5. My second Airport Extreme is about 436.7ft from the Main Airport (mentioned Above) second is in 5Ghz N not connected with a cable. I set this up using my iMac Airport Utility.

Then determine if your 2Wire access point supports WDS. I'm betting it doesn't, and if even if it does it won't interop with Apple. But, well, if it does, try to figure it out. What I want to know is does the 2Wire device support repeating. This setup is for a client. The provider is AT&T and if I switch to a Netgear WiFi router I'll either have to place a different modem or change the configuration of the existing router in a way that AT&T will not support.
