Ya, sorry for late reply. I've confirmed it myself, it's indeed zune HD is playing lossless music files but at slightly lower bitrate as Zune client converts them to Zune HD as the picture shown below. My whole music library I made for Zune takes 26.4 GB while, it takes 22.53GB on Zune. 4.86Gb of 26.4 GB music library is lossy audio files.

Feb 16, 2016 · I went and downloaded the Zune Software. Only to find that in 2011, MS still don't support FLAC. It looks great, but in this day you can't do that, especially when an open source plugin easily implemented (look at the plugin for WMP) exists.

Media that is WMA lossless on a PC will remain at that quality, as soon as you load to a phone it converts them to the best setting under Settings -> Phone -> Conversion Settings. i.e 320 kbps.
