The storage server is currently running FreeNAS which doesn't have support for RDMA (Mellanox card feature). I would like to move to Linux and maybe RDMA iscsi or RDMA nfs. But I keep coming back to trim support on Linux. From what I understand ZFS on Linux only got Trim support in 8.0(ish?) and 8 is pretty bleeding edge.

So I did some research and found ZFS on Linux doesn't support TRIM. So, now I'm thinking I made a huge mistake putting ZFS on my SSD. However, I also did some more research, and I've found people claiming ZFS doesn't need TRIM because it has built-in wear-leveling. I've also found people saying that it's bunk and you still need TRIM.
