Re: XPS m1530 and HDMI issue I think what he is saying is to use the HDMI to DVI connector to connect your XPS to your TV, that will strip the audio signal out of the data stream, then you can connect your audio however you want.

I think I found the solution to my own problem. When using hdmi to dvi its important that the monitor or tv does support hdcp codec. All information from hdmi port is coded with hdcp. A monitor with hdmi port automaticly supports hdcp, but only a few hdmi-less monitors support hdcp.

Sep 04, 2005 · DVI does not support audio.... no matter what cable you buy. DVI is digital video only and the same is with VGA. If you want audio, connect DVI+ 3.5mm audio cable/ toslink cable or the simplest option is connect via HDMI because it supports hd audio and hd video.
