I have recently been working with XPath and have been searching for information on which browsers support XPath 2.0 without much luck. The best I could find was the query technologies comparison table of various rendering engines.. This clearly tells me that Firefox and IE (all versions of both) do not support XPath 2.0, but what about the other rendering engines for Chrome, Safari, etc.?

May 17, 2017 · Having our customers and support people have to deal with the complexity of 3 sophisticated XML query languages two of which are look similar but behave quite differently in the case of XPath 2.0 and XQuery seemed to us not to be that beneficial.

Feb 27, 2012 · Unfortunately, as you are aware that XSLT 2.0 and XPath 2.0 support are not in .NET 4.0. We are actively looking at the bring our XML technology stack(s) upto the current standards/editions, XSLT 2.0 and XPath 2.0 being on top of the list. We will communicate it out to the developer community once the roadmap is finalized.
