Dec 17, 2008 · Thanks. I know that multiple processors have been supported for quite some time, even before XP, provided you have the right edition. XP Home will only recognize a single CPU, while XP Pro can use two. My qusetion was specifically about dual core CPUs - where you only use/need one socket, but the CPU has two processing cores.

Aug 14, 2006 · If that's the case, then, even if you have a dual-core CPU, you'll only be able to see one of those cores in XP Home. If XP Home does support dual-core technology, it probably has an SMP kernel available and support either dual cores or dual CPU's. Your question is a little vague as to whether you want the support in the host or guest.
