From here make sure Enable native XMLHTTP support is checked (like in the image below) and then click OK. If the setting is not available or grayed out you may need to contact your IT administrator. After adjusting this setting, reload the web page and it should function as expected.

Aug 14, 2017 · It seems that the window.XMLHttpRequest is always working on IE 8 and IE8+ no matter that the Enable Native XMLHTTP Support" option is checked or not. And it seems that there doesn't have a way to check the Enable Native XMLHTTP Support" option is checked or not using javascript now. Best Regards, Jean

However, in corporate environments, many of these options are not enabled by default due to security concerns. IE has a fallback XML parser that works from IE6 through IE8.
