Given that Xilinx's 2008 support is pretty lousy (if you exclude free tools, its probably has the worst support of all tools), you'll probably have to wait a long time for VHDL 2017 support. Afaik, the only thing that would have much use in synthesis is multi-directional records.

Xilinx made the change about two years ago now: your local distributor is a choice for service. The forums are another choice. All questions are reviewed by the same folks who used to answer the phones (webcases), as well as customers, and others. If you have a certain threshold of yearly business, you may request webcase support.
