I have a buffalo Terastation which is configured with an XFS file system. i have been trying to back it up using an external maxtor HDD which i formated as FAT32 (using the terastation) so i could read the files from an ordinary PC, but the backup fails everytime. it seems to work fine when the extHDD is formatted as XFS.

Tech support tells me that the drives are written in XFS format but I need to take the data off in Windows format (like NTFS). I don't have a Linux machine. I have searched and my thoughts are to boot one of my windows machines using Knoppix or MEPIS, place the XFS disk into an external enclosure and connect into my machine through a USB port.
