Nov 24, 2012 · Using 5ghz connection on 360 I have the N adapter for the 360 and a dual band router, but it seems I only connect at 2.4ghz. Do I need a dual band wireless adapter connected to my computer to get my xbox adapter to connect at 5ghz?

The Xbox 360, revisions S and E, operate on 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz networks and won't be able to find your network if your router is set to operate in 5GHz only mode. For the original version of the Xbox 360, you'll need an external Wi-Fi adapter for wireless connectivity.

Hi Experts, I have an Xbox 360 Slim and a NetGear N900 Dual-Band Wireless router (WNDR4500). I have setup both networks (2.4GHz and 5GHz). However, the Xbox only sees the 2.4Ghz network and connects just fine.
