Feb 13, 2012 · I've got a bunch of things on my home (wired) network. Tuners, AVR's, Squeezebox, ups, xbox 360's, computers. Most of it besides the computers is 100mb. If I turn on jumbo frames on the WHS2011 and my HTPC, will the xbox's function ok (HDTV/Movies)? All the other devices (maybe pulling music from the server?).

Make sure your netgear is a GS108v2 and not a plain GS108, as the older version does *NOT* handle jumbo frames. I have a GS108v2.

When setting up Jumbo Packets on other network devices, note that different network devices calculate Jumbo Packet sizes differently. Some devices include the header information in the frame size while others do not.

So I basically want to transfer some media from my PC to the Playstation 3 over my Gigabit Ethernet network. I noticed my transfer speeds aren't that hot, and I verified that I DO have a Gigabit Ethernet connection on my PC and PS3 and that Jumbo Frames are supported on both the Gigabit Switch (a cheapo Trendnet) and on the PC.
