I have been trying to find the optimal format for my videos so that they will be of a good quality as well fully functional on the 360 while maintaining an acceptable file size. At first I was using h.264 video, aac audio in a MP4 container.

Feb 21, 2010 · Higher bitrate videos are choppy on my XBox 360 when used as a media extender. A 720p Xvid/AC3 video halts and stutters when played through the Media Center on the 360. It does NOT stutter when played from the dashboard, however. It does this regardless of the source PC (have tried three, all running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit).
