Apr 18, 2014 · If you had XBMC installed via the Ubuntu repo before adding the team-xbmc/ppa, then you need to update your sources list so that the software can be upgraded to the current release in team-xbmc/PPC. Otherwise you're probably still using the Ubuntu XBMC package which doesn't include support for RAR due to licensing.

These changes are for finally getting XBMC using libarchive for RAR support. These changes will work with the latest git snapshot of libarchive, of which I plan on making a new release soon. I did a few tests of the current implementation of RAR support in XBMC with the new libarchive changes. On average, using a build of XBMC with optimizations enabled had these run times.
