In xbmc you can view mythtv channels live without installing myth box at all but just adding a mythtv source type. Same for me, i am really thinking into switching to xbmc to have this feature. Some features of plex are really nice and live tv support with pause is for now on the only thing missing to have the perfect multimedia system.

XBMC as a MythTV frontend. XBMC can be used as a MythTV frontend in several different ways, all of which have been outlined on the Xbox Frontend page. XBMC will support myth:// defined as a video source. This should work with mythtv 0.25 without having to use the plugins. Feb 23, 2011 · XBMC already supports tvheadend for live tv as backend daemon; you may find interesting to spend some time enhancing the features of tvh since the native protocol doesn't allow recording or scheduling a recording, AFAIK.
