XBMC has native MythTV support, which means that, out of the box, XBMC can connect to your MythTV server, view your list of recorded programs, and play them. You can also delete recordings, browse the program guide, and watch live TV (although that feature is pretty experimental).

Some features of plex are really nice and live tv support with pause is for now on the only thing missing to have the perfect multimedia system.

XBMC will support myth:// defined as a video source. This should work with mythtv 0.25 without having to use the plugins. For other windows playback solution see Play_Recordings_On_Windows_From_MythWeb.
