Apr 15, 2012 · XBMC currently does not support forced subtitles in PGS streams (what you get from a Blu-ray/HD-DVD disc). I don't personally rip to MKV, so I'm not that familiar with it, but from what I understand the forced flag in MKV just tells XBMC to enable the subtitle stream even if the default preference is to have subtitles disabled.

Jun 26, 2015 · The whole idea of this thread and the fix was that xbmc was not recognising the 'forced' flag in mkv files. Where the mkv files has forced track flag subs 'on', there is no need to have subtitles enabled from the osd - xbmc recognises the flag and sets them to on automatically.

Feb 21, 2016 · Hello. I downloaded a season of a TV series and all the files are MKV, and it also says 720p x265 AAC. They work fine in VLC on my Windows PC, but after FTP-ing them to Xbox, it only plays sound in XBMC, as if it is an audio file.

Sep 11, 2013 · Subtitles Spanish When I create my MKV I am sure to include all of the English tracks however when playing back (on VLC or other players), neither of the subtitle tracks are forced only. The first is a straight forward subtitle track and the second is for hard of hearing.
