May 04, 2015 · i can remeber playing the original X-wing alliance and Tie fighter for that matter with keyboard and mouse. Not sure why they dont work now. I do most of my gaming on the go, so i cant really be lugging a joystick around as well. might try my 360 gamepad. :( X-wing and X-wing Alliance are not the same game. Maybe I should make a copy of this ...

Mouse & Keyboard Support Unfortunately, The Windows versions of these games require a joystick/gamepad to play. However, you can use a freeware program called PPJoy to emulate and map a Joystick’s controls onto your keyboard and/or mouse.

Jun 24, 2017 · X-wing Alliance was the first game in the series to support a fourth axis, full throttle support was introduced only in X-wing vs Tie Fighter and the DOS installments of the series only supported the two basic joystick axis.
