The firmware doesn't support ipv6 though. If you want to use ipv6 with your wrt54g, you'll need to cascade it to your asus LAN to LAN. Search the forum for instructions on how to cascade a linksys router LAN to LAN. I use different SSIDs for main router and secondary router and ipv6 works fine using the wrt54g.

Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) is a protocol introduced to replace Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) in order to solve the IP Address exhaustion problem. Although IPv4 is still being used, some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) already require setting up IPv6 on the router to activate your Internet connection. IMPORTANT: Not all Linksys routers are IPv6-compliant.

Enabling IPv6 Support. On the Administration>Management page, enable IPv6 and radvd. Configuring Radvd (if your DD-WRT box is NOT your IPv6-router) Radvd is similar to a DHCP server. It advertises your IPv6 prefix to the local network, so that a new client can generate its own IP address.

There is no need for the router to support IPv6. The router (i.e. the routing component in the WRT) is not involved in LAN traffic or homegroup communication. This all happens based on MAC addresses inside your ethernet LAN and only passes through the switch inside the WRT.

It is also possible to replace the 2 MB flash chip in the WRT54G with a 4 MB flash chip. The Macronix International 29LV320BTC-90 is a suitable part although others may work as well.

I also have Radvd enabled and DHCP6C and DHCP6S disabled. I have an IPv6 assigned to my network and can connect to IPv6 websites. my Issue I have right now is I do not know if this is the best setting to connect to IPv6 for Cox, additionally I'm trying to connect my IPv6 DNS to a custom DNS server I use for myself.
