Jul 17, 2012 · When these are dropped into Word, they show up at exactly the drawn size (6in x 8in). I am updating this application, and in the process switching it over to an SVG format. However, not matter what I have tried, when the new svg files are dropped into Word 2007, it shows up as a 2in x 2in.

May 29, 2009 · Lastly, I opened this file saved from Word 2003 (with the EPS placed in 2003) into Word 2007. The file appears to print OK. And when I use the 'Save to PDF' plugin for Word 2007, the PDF looks fine and the graphic is still vector.

Apr 09, 2019 · Compressing an SVG can make it a lot smaller, our test SVG image is around 90% smaller as an SVGZ. SVGZ images are supported on all major browsers. Making an SVGZ work in Word and Office. Office does NOT support SVGZ images which is a pity, but easily overcome. In short, unpack the SVG from the compressed SVGZ.

I suspect that no pure-R solution will work -- metafiles should have been your best bet, but the built-in support is admittedly not great. Thus I would guess that your best option is to try to find a good way to translate from a well-supported, well-documented vector format (i.e. PDF or SVG) to something that Word 2007 can handle.
