I think the salient information being left out is the connector type. The data sheet doesn't tell the connector type; in fact, the data sheet doesn't even say the WMP54G has a detachable antenna. So, does it use the RP-TNC connector like most other Linksys devices (with detachable antennae) utilize?

I have had a lot of trouble installing my Linksys WMP54G v4.1 in Windows 7 64 bit. I have tried a lot of drivers from Linksys and other manufactorers. Finally I managed to install it and make it work using standard Windows 7 drivers.

Currently Linksys doesn't have the Drivers for these adapter for windows 7. As of now the only adapter which is compatible with Windows 7 is WMP600N or WUSB600N. May be you can try www.ralink.com and check if you can find the drivers for these adapter to work with Windows 7.

Due to me losing the install CD for this card in a recent move, I am trying to download this driver from the LinkSys site and the process never starts, i.e. the download dialogue box comes up and I choose "save" because I need to sneaker-net the thing to another PC in the house.

What a crock of S**T that there isn't sufficient Linksy driver support in Windows 7. The WMP54G was one of the most popular wireless cards available. Then again there wasn't support for it in the first releases of Vista either. Message 7 of 16 (9,137 Views)
