Nov 09, 2014 · Note : Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) is the digital cable standard in the United States. Windows Media Center supports QAM signals with a Digital Cable Tuner in United States. As you are having a coax cable without a cablebox this cannot be achieved, hence you need to have a Digital cable Tuner to get QAM signals.

May 24, 2010 · HOWEVER, when I try to a TV SETUP in Windows Media Center - WMC recognizes that my TV card has both an analog and digital tuner - but, after setting up the analog correctly, it tries to set up the digital tuner for Terrestrial signals, instead of using the cable's clear QAM digital signals.

Oct 16, 2009 · Next to supporting Cable Card tuners for do it yourselfers, Clear QAM support is a must! Currently, our only way around this is to use the HDHomeRun, which for some reason uses a network connection method to get around Microsoft's shortcomings to support Clear QAM directly in Media Center itself.

Oct 29, 2008 · My first impression is that additional QAM support (already in TV Pack) and H.264 support are the only non-visual updates to Media Center. Yes, the user interface is being improved further, but the deep-down below the surface workings don’t appear to be changing much from what you experience now.

Jan 31, 2008 · Vista doesn?t have support for Qam Cable as of now but there is an update scheduled for Vista Media Center later this year which will include QAM support which will be compatible with other then cable card tuners. However Microsoft has not commented anything on this. Even ATI haven?t said anything about QAM support in MC in Vista.
