Oct 26, 2017 · Thanks for replying, Wil. So I gather that you can't install any third party driver, when using VMware. If a device isn't supported "out of the box" (from the OS), WMware won't allow using it. I remember that Windows 7 and Windows 2008R2 (as it's server counterpart) didn't support USB 3.0, as this finally was managed by Windows 8.

Is it possible to wire the old WinNT boxes to the new Win2K boxes using a USB cable, and have a VLN ("Very Local Network") between the two boxes, so the old box's drives can be SHARED to the new boxes for a week or so?-NO its not. I havee used aftermarket usb drivers for winidows nt4 and it let us use thumb drives in nt4. Its a limited usb support. I ahve not used the above files... but i will be in a few days as im loading an nt4 workstation.
