Jan 16, 2013 · A TRIM command allows an operating system to inform a solid-state drive (SSD) which blocks of data are no longer considered in use and can be wiped internally. Dealer tells me that TRIM is a build-in function within Window 7, but not Window XP. Does anyone have any suggestions how to work with TRIM? if I install SSD within Window XP.

However it seems that newer SSDs have improved Garbage Collection, so may work with Windows XP. Is this true? In this regard, which would be a good SSD for Windows XP?

The fact that must be revealed in this regard is that Windows XP lacks the support for a very important feature which significantly help maintain the performance of SSD. It is the so-called TRIM Support. That means you will observe a noticeably degradation in performance after a specific amount of usage.
