Sep 01, 2013 · After performing a "restore to factory settings", Vista fails to update properly. Vista immediately offered and downloaded 87 updates, but 30+ of these failed to install properly. The aim is to try to get to Vista service pack 1, but I understand that all the updates need to install before this will be offered as an update via windows update.

That being said, I've been having problems with Windows Vista using the automatic updates. I installed about 28 updates when I first got the computer home from the store, but now I can't even open the Control Panel>Security>Windows Update screen...totally blank and won't respond.
