Jun 02, 2015 · Not sure I can tell exactly what did it. In the Windows Live Mail screen in the upper left panel I found section "Quick Views" under which RSS Feeds was listed. I somehow found a way to delete it (by right clicking or left clicking) and had no issues since. I am suspicious this was added when they updated Windows Live Essentials Mail.

Dec 03, 2010 · I switched on My Computer this morning. I am running Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3. I opened My Windows Live Mail. A pop up message appeared on screen " INITIALIZATION OF RSS FEED SUPPORT FAILED. RSS FIELDS COULD NOT BE UPDATED " This was followed by another pop up message " THE APPLICATION WAS UNABLE TO INITIALIZE SEARCH FOLDERS "

Open Windows Live Mail, then at the lower left hand corner click on Feeds. Once in the Feeds view, click on Feed at the top left. Here you can copy/paste or type the URL of the RSS feed you are trying to add; once it is in place click OK. Once the customer has the RSS feed added into their feeds list it will start to populate.
