Some versions of Linux running kernel 2.6.3 and higher can take advantage of UASP, but it is limited to a very small set of supported hardware. Most USB 3.0 hard drive enclosures and docking stations support UASP.

Aug 01, 2012 · your link refers to the usb3 stack on win8. win8 has native support for UASP as well as BOT, so need for you to write a driver at all. The microsoft usb3 stack only runs on win8, so any usb3 suppoer before win8 is a 3rd party stack with perhaps their own API

May 22, 2018 · I know that mainstream support for both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 have come to a close. However, according to the Microsoft OS life cycle chart Windows 7 is supported through the beginning of 2020. Windows 8.1 will be supported through the second quarter of 2023.
