Nov 30, 2012 · Windows 8 Running a Lenovo X201 and similar issues on Samsug Tablet XE700T1A-A04US Updated the newest drivers to WiFi driver for Intel cards for Windows 8 64 - version 15.05.3000.1496 on 10/26/2012 . I can't connect to WEP enabled Wifi Access Points (my iPad, and Galaxy tablet can) Also . I can see previous wifi connections listed in the registry:

Dec 12, 2014 · In order to simplify Windows, make it easier for people to pick more secure defaults, and to enable us to focus on improving the wireless networking that the other 99.9% of our customers use, we removed shared WEP from Windows 8. Windows 8 continues to support open WEP.

The wireless network was configured using the WEP – Shared Key Authentication method which is horribly insecure and should never be used.

Dec 08, 2015 · Yep, I switch the AP over the WPA based on my interpretation of the earlier post and it worked a dream. but you're right, everyone else had to reconnect. It wasn't a big deal, although a few tried to make it so. So all good - was just very frustrating that Windows didn't tell me that the reason I couldn't connect was because of WEP. Oh well.

May 04, 2012 · So I've read dozens of threads in these forums about Windows 7 and WEP or WPA, and they just seem to be arguments over whether Windows 7 does or does not support WEP. All I want is a definitive set of instructions of how to get THAT computer to connect to our home network, using WEP.
