In Windows they don’t call their RAID options by the traditional 0, 1, 5, 10 etc. Instead they use spanned, striped, and mirrored as the options for creating software RAIDs. Dec 18, 2009 · Does Windows 7 x64 Pro support RAID 5 in disk management? It shows up as an option but it always grayed out. I have (4) 500GB drives and would really like to use RAID 5 on the 3 that aren't boot drives without all of the BS of using my MoBo controllers and finding the right drivers.

May 30, 2009 · However, I was unable to find any info on raid support. I also did some further testing, due to lack of available hardware (disks), with VHD files. It seems my copy of Windows 7 (32 bit) has RAID 5 support locked out. The option is displayed in popup menus, but always grayed out :
