Mar 22, 2014 · Thank you for posting to Microsoft Windows 7 Community Forums. I am sorry to inform that with Windows 7 home premium does not have the feature join the domain network. To use the feature to join the domain you need to install Windows 7 professional or upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate.

Windows 7 Home Premium does not support Remote Desktop. Home Premium also cannot join a windows active domain. All of these questions are documented on the Microsoft Windows 7 Product Page. If Linux can view those shared folders, Home Premium also can. What it cannot do out of the box is use be a host for remote desktop.
