Feb 06, 2004 · I am trying to find out if JRockit 8.0 supports hyperthreading correctly on Windows Server 2000. I know that Win2K doesn't have proper support for hyperthreading in that to support it you need to use additional CPU licences rather than the OS identifying the hyperthreading capability properly.

Windows 2000 does support hyperthreading, sort of. It understands multiple processors, which is what hyperthreading emulates. However, where XP is intelligent enough to understand it has one physical processor and one logical processor available to it, Windows 2000 just thinks it actually has two physical processors in the machine.

Anyone that has tried it, please give me some feedback as I have an odd itch to go back to 2000 for some reason, but I don't want to kill my F@H production by having to disable HT.
