Jun 12, 2019 · I played with GIMP. I use Aperture to process my RAW images and figured I could use GIMP as an external editor for whatever I couldn't do within Aperture. But the fact that GIMP doesn't support 16-bit processing is a deal-breaker. For a finished product, 8-bit is fine, but for making edits, you really need to work in something higher than 8-bit.
