The Droid X can't run on 4G (LTE).....it doesn't matter due to the fact that Verizon will be selling only LTE phones in a couple years. I would imagine that they will let the 3g phones phase out as we upgrade or get new a new line.

To bad it wont have a front camera or LTE support, I know LTE wont go full blown for a minut but it would be nice to have a supported device for when they do. And the specs on the DX2 looks promissing but it looks like the Bionic may be my next device if I decide to switch.

Will Droid X Support 4G Eventually? - Verizon Community

The Droid X only has a dual band CDMA 1x/EVDO Rev A radio so that's the best you're going to do as there's no chance of it getting LTE support when Verizon starts rolling it out. I believe that is what Verizon limits it to with the current radios. A radio can be flashed with an update though, so it still gives us lots of room to grow.
