Dec 25, 2017 · I called Nintendo to do a Wii U Transfer to another Wii U transfer without having the source Wii U. They said that any data will be lost on my new Wii U because it will be replaced with the data from the source Wii U. I don't want to lose my Super Mario 3D World game save, so can I use a flash drive to store the save game data or no?

So if you can find a Flash usb drive that can be read fast enough to keep up with how fast the Wii U wants that info from it you'd be fine. Anyone know if you can keep just a game on a drive and still have the save for the game on the wii U's internal memory.

Hi, Yesterday I decided to see what would happen if I formatted my USB flash drive to my friend's Wii U. I copied everything on it to my PC as a backup, then I let the Wii U format it. Now, however, when I plug it back to any PC (mine and others) the PC wont recognize it. However, the USB is lighting up as if it was connected to something.
