    Sep 04, 2009 · none of these older games support 16x9 natively. there was no concept of a 16x9 signal back when they were made (over rf, composite or super-video cables). even 480p isn't a widescreen format by definition. the game can render with an aspect ratio that makes a 4:3 screen look correct when stretched to 16x9 at 480p (like god of war 1 and 2)...

    Mar 23, 2008 · The Wii does work with widescreen without the component cables, however it is slightly better with them. I personally didn't think the cables were worth the $25 I bought them for because it accentuated the TV lag and the looming fact that the Wii definitely cannot support HD.
