Dec 10, 2013 · That's why the new "Quicktime" Player on Mavericks doesn't take advantage of Quicktime Components for playback anymore. Apple's moving away from Quicktime (not the Quicktime container file format though). You can see for yourself that the QTKit framework is deprecated as of OS X 10.9.

Apple TV doesn't support .mov files Anyone know why this is the case? Apple is literally the only company in the entire world that uses Quicktime and .mov files and yet I can't play a movie made in iMovie and rendered as a Quicktime file on my Apple TV.
