I have a problem with WebSphere 6.1 and Primefaces. I have created an application, but used a local Tomcat appserver for testing. Everything was working fine, until I tried to deploy it on WAS 6.1. After investigating the internal server problem, I saw, that WAS 6.1 only supports JSF 1.1, so I can throw out the whole interface :S

I am somewhat new to JSF and cannot seem to find a simple answer to what versions of IBM websphere support 1.1 and wnat versions support 1.2? I would really appreciate if somebody has the answer to this question. I have small sample application working on Tomcat 6 but now am having problems deploying to Websphere and I have a feeling it could be a version issue

Jan 16, 2008 · Hi All, I try to start application on WebSphere version 6.1.0 trial and it does not work because WAS uses own JSF (com.ibm.ws.webcontainer_2.0.0.jar). I found out that class loader mode should be set to PARENT_LAST. it's necessary to use JSF libraries from web-inf/lib. Otherwise, WebSphere will continue to use its own JSF implementation.
