Dec 28, 2009 · Hi, Does anybody know when support for Java EE 6 in Weblogic will be available? Is there any planned schedule? Currently we are using WLS 10.0 and we are planning to migrate to 10.3, but if there is a new version going to be release soon then we want to wait.

Oct 20, 2011 · Well, it's been 5 months since the Oracle webcast on Java EE 6, saying the complete Java EE 6 impl will be out this year -- guess that means by the end of the year? JBoss 6 released last year (at least the full Web Profile); WebSphere 8 has been in beta since Oct. 2010 and will go GA soon.

Jan 20, 2011 · Something else new for developers is incremental support for a number of Java EE 6 APIs. The WebLogic Server 11g (10.3.4) container is formally Java EE 5 compatible but we have provided the ability to layer on JPA 2.0 support as well as JAX-RS support - both of which are mandatory in Java EE 6. Previously we did the same for JSF 2.0 support.

No, it doesn't, WebLogic 11g is a Java EE 5 application server (you can check the datasheet for the standard and the enterprise edition here and here). AFAIK, Java EE 6 support is planned for WebLogic 12g (to be released in 2011). share improve this answer answered Jul 2 '10 at 21:21

Java EE 5 Compatibility. WebLogic Server 11 g Release 1 (10.3.6) is Java EE 5 compatible. This compatibility allows a Java EE 5 compliant application to be developed on one operating system platform, and deployed for production on another, without requiring Java EE 5 application code changes.
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/19422149/jpa-2-0-in-weblogic-server-10-3-6
I need to use JPA 2.0 (with the EclipseLink implementation). The problem is that I also need to deploy this app in a WebLogic 10.3.6 server, which implements the Java EE 5 specification, and so, it is not required to support JPA 2.

The de-facto standard for delivering secure, robust, scalable multi-platform applications and services, Java EE technology and its success is predicated on compatibilty which brings Java technology's mission of "Write Once, Run Anywhere" capability to the server.
