The only WDTV Media Player that supported RMVB was the WDTV Mini (which is super old and probably super cheap on ebay) Anyways, if you can’t buy one … you will have to convert ALL your RMVB’s to a compatible ‘supported’ format for all the other WDTV Media Players.

Download the latest firmware update compressed file for your WD TV Media Player. Extract the four files (.BI2, .BIN, .VER, and .FFF files) to the root (top level) of a portable USB drive. Connect the USB drive to the WD TV Media Player's USB port. WD TV will automatically detect if there is a new firmware upgrade on the USB drive.

Unfortunately with this specific hardware platform, RMVB codec cannot be supported. However, WD does offer the WDTV Mini Media Player which supports RMVB decode. Perhaps you could stream the RMVB files to the Live over the network from a PC / media server like TVersity?

Dec 27, 2018 · What I like about the WD LIVE players is you can put in a Flash USB Drive loaded with a few TV shows or movies and when powering-ON the WD LIVE it will auto load the media files found in the root of the USB drive and auto-play them on a loop. It’s perfect for my ship’s Entertainment Distribution system.

Apr 07, 2016 · My WDTV Live Hub is now becoming useless, please do something. Consider the WDTV-devices discontinued and unsupported. Plus they can’t do aynthing anyway, the chip in all WDTVs just doesn’t support H265.
