Jun 13, 2016 · The WD TV box currently support AVI-Xvid. Lots of programs that write to AVI format use AVI-DivX. Playing an AVI-DivX on the WD TV player results in jumpy video playback. DivX is a commercial codec, while Xvid is a non-commercial codec that is almost the same. Is there a plan to add support for AVI-DivX?

Oct 15, 2015 · Thw B-frame is not support by some hardware possibly PS3, some standalone DVD player and etc. The recomendation has been NOT USE B-frame. All my DIVX works great on other mediaplayers, PC, DVD player and etc. the problem is WD HD TV (version.1) Below is the list of supported codec and format (Inc. containers) from WD web page:-

Oct 15, 2015 · The WDTV Live Plus cannot seem to play these properly… over USB and Stream. It will play them back with stuttering. The WDTV Live has no issues. Can this be fixed? WD are deliberately vague on DivX as advertising support would necessitate some kind of license. However, I have several AVI files that have video encoded with the DX50 codec that play just fine. Not sure how recent that codec is though, so if you can link to any samples using newer DivX codecs, I’d be happy to download them and try them out.

Sorry being a bit thick here what is a DIVX, is that a file type that DVDfab supports or is that another type of software. Ideally what i would like to do is save a dvd to my media server, and then access the film via the WD TV so that the main menu of the film starts up and you can choose the scene selection, is there any software that will do this?
