In answer to your question The WD TV HD is supposed to support DTS 5.1, but I think what you’ll find on this community is that it is very unstable and unreliable. Hello. I have some questions regarding the latest WD TV Media Player (WDBYMN0000NBK-HESN). I am planning to use it with Sony’s 9.1ch Wireless Surround Sound Headphones which includes a DTS-HD MA decoder box, to stream MKV files via wifi from WD My Net N900 Central built-in NAS router.

Oct 15, 2015 · The WD TV Live doesn’t support DTS-HD right now. There’s some kind of absurd licensing issue, mainly because DTS’s ageing licensing model doesn’t recognise media streamers like the WD TV. Other manufacturers have found a way… WD is still working it out.

WD does not support DTS technology on the original WD TV HD Media Player (WDAVx00) or the WD TV Mini Media Player.
