Oct 15, 2015 · hello. yersterday i bought a wd live media player without hard disk. i plugged in my own WD external hard disk (NTFS) but nothing happened!!! the disk was 2.5 withour power supply. then i tried a second external hard disk, again NTFS but 3.5 with external power supply.

Aug 09, 2016 · When my WD 500GB stopped working I bought a 1TB Seagate Expansion Hard Drive that is on the NTFS system. After plugging it into my WD media player, the player does not recognise the Seagate format. I did try (on Windows 10 reformatting to exFAT (the only other option) and this also did not work. I do have the latest firmware.

Nov 22, 2018 · So, Connect the drive to a computer, and safely remove the drive. This will change the marking bit to show that it was properly removed. The WD TV should then read the drive. However you can also check the compatible USB devices for the WD TV HD Media Player. support.wdc.com

NTFS with its features like QUOTA and Shadow Copy is not intend to be used on USB sticks. exFAT is great evolution of FAT32 which can hardly be used nowadays on drivers with space equal to tens of GBs. Especially you should to consider that WD TV Live HUB is a media player, hence files on USB sticks will be often bigger than 4GB FAT32 limitation.

May 08, 2016 · The WD My Book 3 TB has been replaced by WD 3 times and always ends up not being detected by WD TV Media Player. The latest argument with WD support concerns some media files in the drives which may be read by my laptop but will not be read by WD TV Media Player.
