So, as an emergency workaround, I am using MBSA to scan each of our servers and determine which patches each one needs. I am downloading these patches directly from Microsoft to my PC, and copying them to each server.

Hello It just happend that our Servers are not able to install the windows updates. All the traffic routes through a TMG 2010 Server which acts as a proxy. The TMG 2010 has all the newest updates...

Nov 03, 2014 · Hi RajithR, I have been able to download windows updates to this workstation. ( I do not use a proxy connecrion, Our firewall is a Sonicwall NSA 3500 and I have not had any issues with downloading updates for any of the other 250+ workstations.

The best range to choose will depend on what else you are running on your server - you want to pick ports that other server roles and applications are not using. The dynamically allocated ports start from 49152, so your Start port should be at least that.
