Jul 10, 2019 · DX12 does not support traditional fullscreen mode for various reasons but it really isn’t Blizzard’s fault as they were just trying to mitigate any potential issue before it arose to provide the best experience possible for the majority. Alt-tabbing out of the old fullscreen sucked anyway. Games tended to hang or crash half of the time.

Jul 18, 2018 · The problem is not that dx12 cannot support fullscreen. It does. The reason proper fullscreen is being discontinued by Blizzard is due to an issue that existed with one of the interface drivers between DX12 and windows 10 when Blizzard started work on BfA.
