Mar 08, 2004 · Basically, I ripped the generic RANDR code from XFree 4.4.0 and backported it (easily - few changes were required) into the Xvnc server (based on XFree 3.3.2). All the VNC-specific changes are confined to the hw/vnc directory. When the VNC X server initializes, it creates a framebuffer in memory that all the X operations write into.

Jul 07, 2016 · It appears that RealVNC server 4.4+ includes active support for Xrandr with the commandline argument -randr to be used during initialization to set screen modes/sizes, so the following example:. vncserver -geometry 2360x1320 -randr 2360x1320,1920x1151 It'd be great for TigerVNC to include such an option.

Feb 10, 2014 · My tigervnc log does not complain about RandR extension missing, although you need desktop resizing support on the server side (KDE should support this, I am not so sure about XFCE) if you want to be able to dynamically resize the vncviewer's window. Eric
