Sep 15, 2009 · In the vSphere support statement for Server 2008 clustering, it mentions that both 2008 nodes must not belong to an HA/DRS cluster. We currently have our cluster designed to accommodate all hosts (HA/DRS enabled) within the datacenter.

vMotion is supported for Windows Server 2008 SP2 and above releases. Windows Server 2003 is not supported. The MSCS cluster heartbeat time-out must be modified to allow 10 missed heartbeats. The virtual hardware version for the MSCS virtual machine must be version 11.

Conclusion : Though VMware officially do not claim support for Microsoft Failover Cluster (Windows 2008 / 2008 R2) with VMware Paravirtualized SCSI (PVSCSI), it is very much feasible solution which I have deployed in my test environment and played around it.

Feb 11, 2009 · I am testing Windows Server 2008 clustering witj shared storage on an IBM ds4500 SAN. Two RAW LUNs are being used as a shared storage on two Windows Servers 2008. When I run a validation test as a part of setting up a cluster I ger errors on the Disk validation. As a result no disks are found which are suitable for server 2008 clustering.
