Oct 23, 2010 · I hope they do add it soon. VT-d support in a Mac virtualization product will mean my employer will be open to buying a Mac Pro for myself and a few other developers. Parallels showed it working at WWDC 09, but their 5th version of their product also lacks support.

Aug 18, 2008 · i was wondering if there is/will be, VT-d support in fusion 2? sorry i know its a short question and there is the answer somewhere but i cant find how to search the forums, and a search of the general site springs up reports from 06 of how intel and vmware are working together on this, which made me hopeful perhaps fusion 2 would have it, but i cant find it.

I am looking at buying a new machine. It seems that the fastest I7 chips don't have VT-D support on them. If I get a machine that does not support VT-D what am I missing out on - what can't I do that Intel VT-D would give? Also what are the requirements if I want to virtualize ESXi 5.0 within itself. So have Esxi run as a guest for experimentation.

After you have confirmed that your processor supports VT, you may need to enable the support: VT must be enabled in the host system BIOS. The feature may be named VT, Vanderpool Technology, Virtualization Technology, VMX, or Virtual Machine Extensions. Often, you find this setting under a Security screen in the BIOS.

Aug 21, 2017 · Intel VT for Directed I/O (VT-d) reads Disabled. Three questions: 1. Should I enable this and if so why? There should be no harm in enabling it although it would be of no impact, as far as I know with VMware Workstation.
