Mar 07, 2008 · To clarify, you now have USB 2.0 support in VMware Player? If so, is there any way you could post the change to your VMX file that was made by the Workstation Upgrade? I'd love to enable USB 2.0 for my WinXP VMs without having to uninstall player, install workstation, perform the upgrade, uninstall workstation, and re-install player.

Jun 14, 2007 · My problem right now is the impossibility to enable the USB 2.0 support. In the Settings on my virtual image the check-box is simply always disabled. No way to get it enable in order to do a choice, either when running the image os and when it's suspended.

Jul 18, 2007 · It sounds like you opened a virtual machine from an earlier version of VMware Workstation or ACE, which didn't have USB 2.0 support. We don't automatically upgrade that VM to the latest format, in case you want to continue using it with the older VMware software that created it.

Aug 06, 2008 · Is there USB 2.0 support for ESXi? Unlikey this is also the case for IDE support. it is aimed at the enterprise where USB tends not to be as important. so long a USB Dongles can work (USB over IP) thats it really.

Jun 19, 2017 · I had been using my SHINA MUSE Z5 HIFI USB to S/PDIF Converter USB DAC PCM2704 Sound Card Optical Coaxial for many months with ESXi 6.0, so it was surprising that I just couldn't get sound working at all once I moved to ESXi 6.5, and it didn't matter if I had a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 controller added to the Hardware Version 13 Windows 10 VM.
