    Sep 24, 2018 · On Ubuntu/Linux hosts, Workstation/Player would use OpenGL 4.x to deliver the graphics capabilities in the guest VM. If you have multiple graphics cards, you should be able to see in the vmware.log which one VMware Player actually uses. Maybe the Radeon is not being used at all and the weaker/less capable integrated graphics is being used.
